Immigration to a country within the European Union.

There are many people in the world who would like to immigrate to another country. They have a lot of choice. Immigration to a country within the European Union probably provides the best options in the world, provided one can speak one of the European languages. Here are the chief benefits of immigrating to Europe – benefits that are not available from any other country in the world. France is generally the country most chosen by immigrants.

Benefits of Immigration to a country within the European Union.

The biggest benefit of being accepted as an immigrant to any of the countries in the European Union is that one can live and work in any of the other member countries. This gives one the ability to live and/or work in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxenbourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

  • The GPA of the European Union is the largest in the world, being nearly twice the size of the GPA of the USA and China combined. This means that the immigrant is assured that somewhere in this vast economical system, there will be jobs and opportunity.
  • The immigrant has enormous choice in where to live. There are countries with a very low cost of living comparatively (Greece or Spain) and there are countries with standards of living that are as good as any in the world, like Germany. Vienna, in Austria, has the highest standard of living in the world
  • Immigrants are surrounded by an architectural beauty found nowhere else in the world. Kings, princes, the aristocracy of the old world had a vested interest in building solid structures that would last thousands of years. They also were of the view that buildings should not only be functional but beautiful. This is the opposite of modernism.

  • Transport is abundant, inexpensive, and safe. Because the cities developed before the advent of the motor car, homes and trading posts were built close to each other. In addition, other forms of transport developed. Rail and bus services are efficient and inexpensive. There is no need, to own a car in Europe. In many cases, it is quicker to get on a train (metro, tube, underground, etc) than to drive. Bullet trains are becoming a way of life. This is a great benefit to those who don’t want the expense of owning a car.
  • Most countries in Europe are socialistic. This means that while taxes are high, medical services are free to everybody. In countries like Germany, education is free. However, only those that are academically qualified to do so attend university. This means that only 10% of students go to university , which is free. However, other students attend other schools and are just as well educated. For instance, Austrian hotel schools are the best in the world. There are schools for many different kinds of work. Tradesmen in Germany could be considered almost on par with engineers. The children of any immigrant would be well educated, regardless of the path chosen. Most parents would find it beneficial to have well educated children.
  • There is an enormous variety of climate zones in the European Union. In the North in a country like Sweden, the immigrant would be able to indulge in snow sports most of the year. In the south, in a country like Italy, a warm or hot Mediterranean climate would be the norm. Vacations or holidays could be spent in any climate zone.

  • Most Europeans speak two or three languages. It is unlikely that any individual speaks only one language. This benefits immigrants as they are more likely to find someone speaking their own language, although, of course, they will have to learn the language of the country they have elected to live in.
  • Another benefit of immigrating to a country within the European Union is that there is no need to go through a second immigration process if the first country does not turn out to be quite as one hoped it would be. It’s a matter of relocation rather than immigration.
  • There is an enormous respect for other human beings. The Charter of Human Rights protects the civil rights of any individual within the European Union. It is the most extensive legislation of human rights in the world and it is actively enforced. Immigrants to any country within the European Union benefit as a result of these laws.

Difficulties of Immigration
Immigration is never easy. It is expensive, stressful, and in order to qualify, the potential immigrant generally requires either a lot of money or, at least, a four year degree, in an occupation that is in short supply in Europe. Refugees are accepted but this is becoming increasingly difficult as there is general unhappiness at the numbers of refugee immigrants. Economic migrants also flock to Europe in numbers rivaling the American Latino situation. However, on average, the benefits of immigration to a country within the European Union are not to be sneezed at.

Learn how to Immigrate to another Country

Immigrating to another country can be more easy for some than others. Selecting a country which suits your needs best is vital to successful immigration. Read How to Immigrate to Another Country.

Some Countries within the EU Potential Immigrants might consider.

Immigration to France
France is the country most sought after in Europe. It used to be the easiest to immigrate to but the influx of enormous numbers of unskilled workers from the third world has led to a lowering of standards which has upset the French people. Whereas, there initially used to be a sympathy for these unskilled workers, too many unskilled workers have had a negative effect on the economy and the living standards of the French. There is now a resistance to accepting any but the most highly skilled workers for immigration. Probably, if wishing to live in France, the best thing to do is immigrate to another country in the European Union and then relocate to France.

Immigration to Germany
Those who are qualified in Information Technology will find a ready home in Germany as it has a great shortage of IT professionals. Ergo, anyone with IT qualifications will find it relatively easy to be accepted for immigration in Germany. Germany is not only the leading economy within the European Union but must qualify as the neatest country in the world. It also has an exceptionally high education level.

Immigration to the United Kingdom
There are many different categories of workers required in the United Kingdom – most of them one type of engineer or another. The only other category of workers that is required are advanced medical professionals. Because Britain is the only English speaking country within the European Union, it would probably be the choice of many English speaking potential immigrants. However, in some respects, it probably isn’t the best choice.

Work Permits
In some European countries, work permits must be obtained and these generally take about five weeks.

Countries with membership in the European Union
The following countries are members of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Ease of Immigration to Countries within the EU – European Union
Immigration into most countries is difficult. Virtually all countries use a point system with a four year degree being a prerequisite. Investors who have funds of more than a million dollars are also welcome as are entrepreneurs who are willing to set up a business with about a dozen employees. Again, the entrepreneur has to prove both existing funds and have a feasible business plan. Other categories are close family, exceptional artistic or athletic merit, or refugee status. While the details differ for each country, this is the basis of all immigration world wide. The more points one scores in the above categories, the more likely one is to be accepted for immigration.
